Cookie Policy on the processing of personal data through the use of cookies and similar tools, as required by art. 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”)

This page contains information for visitors to the Website (“data subjects”) about how their personal data is processed by the Company, as identified below, through the use of cookies and similar tools while they browse this Website.

Visitors should be aware that, by clicking on the links contained in this Website, they may reach websites managed by third parties. These websites may, in turn, envisage the use of cookies and similar tools: for information about them, visitors are invited to consult the privacy and cookie policies published by the websites concerned.

1. Joint controllership

Data subjects may consult the essential contents of the joint controllership agreement at any time, by writing to the addresses given in this section.

The Data Protection Officer for all Italian companies within the Coesia Group may be contacted at this address dpo@coesia.com.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files, sent to and stored by the browsers used by visitors to the Website, that are returned to the Website on their next visit.
Cookies are sent directly from the Website (“first-party cookies”) or, through the Website, from websites (or web servers) managed by external operators known as “third parties”.

These websites use cookies to store information on the visitor’s device, including “personal data” as defined in the personal data protection regulations (e.g. IP address, a unique code stored on the user's device, the e-mail address of the user etc.).

There are various types of cookie with different functions, which are stored on the visitor's device for different lengths of time. Certain categories of cookie are technically necessary for the functioning of the Website (so-called “technical cookies”), while others are used to improve the usability of the Website and to execute the requests made by visitors (so called “functional cookies”); yet others may be used to collect statistical information about use of the Website (so-called “analytical cookies”) or for promotional purposes, in particular to send customised promotional messages based on the information collected about the visitor's browsing habits (“profiling cookies”).

Cookies may be used directly by the administrator of the Website (“first-party” cookies), or by an external third party (“third-party” cookies).

To carry out the activities described above, websites may also use other technologies, similar to cookies, known as “tracking tools” or “identifiers”. Like cookies, these technologies may be technical, analytical or profiling in nature, and used on a first- or third-party basis.

3. Which cookies does this Website use and for what purposes?

This Website uses the following cookies for the purposes described below:

  • the technical cookies strictly needed to enable the technical functioning of the Website and execute the functions expressly requested by visitors;
  • functional cookies that enable visitors to use certain Website functions or to customise their browsing, e.g. without limitation, to fill in forms, save their names and preferred language, create settings for the text displayed, character size etc.;
  • analytical cookies to analyse and monitor browsing habits, i.e. generate aggregated statistical reports used to assess the effectiveness of the Website, measure its traffic, improve it and measure the social media effectiveness of marketing campaigns;
  • profiling cookies to adapt the service and send customised promotional messages, consistent with the preferences shown by visitors while browsing.

Technical cookies and similar tools are used to ensure that visitors wanting to browse the Website are guaranteed its proper technical functioning pursuant to art. 6(1.b) GDPR. Functional, analytical and profiling cookies are only used following the receipt of visitor consent pursuant to art. 6(1.a) GDPR and art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code.

Follow this link (https://www.systemdigital.it/en/cookie-declaration) to the table containing additional information about the cookies installed, including their specific purposes, the retention periods for collected data, and the first or third party responsible for them. In addition, for third-party cookies, links are given to the policies published by the third-party providers concerned.

4. Retention period of cookies

The personal data collected through cookies and other tracking tools is processed for the period of time indicated in the above table for each cookie or tool. On expiry of the retention period, the data is erased or rendered anonymous, unless it is needed on request by the authorities.

For further information about the retention period for personal data collected using cookies or other third-party tracking tools, please also read the policies found at the links given in the table.

5. Who may become aware of the personal data of visitors?

The personal data gathered by cookies comes to the attention of those employees and collaborators of the Controller who have been specifically authorised to process it, as well as to parties appointed by the Company to administer and maintain the Website as Processors pursuant to art. 28 GDPR.

Depending on the actions carried out on the Website and the consents given by visitors, their personal data may also be transmitted to the Company’s third-party providers, as indicated in the table (https://www.systemceramics.com/en/cookie-declaration). In that case, if the third-party providers are based outside the European Economic Area, or use servers located outside the EEA, the data is transferred abroad in compliance with Chapter V GDPR and, therefore, only if adequacy decisions or adequate guarantees ensure a level of data protection equivalent to that provided in Europe.

6. How to manage cookie preferences

Visitors can change their cookie preferences at any time through their browser settings, or through the dedicated area accessed by clicking on “Change consent” at the top of the table or on the widget button located in the lower-left area of every web page.

To authorise, block or delete cookies using the relevant browser functions, please read the related instructions found at the following links:

Note, however, that the total or partial disabling of technical cookies could compromise the proper technical functioning of the Website. By contrast, public content will continue to function even after all cookies have been disabled.

Third-party cookies can also be disabled in ways made available directly by the third-party controllers of such processing, as indicated in the links provided in the table.

7. Rights of visitors to the Website

Pursuant to and within the limits of rts. 15-21 GDPR, visitors are recognised the right to ask the Company for access to their personal data, for its rectification or erasure, and for the restriction of data processing that relates to them, as well as to object to its processing and to request its portability.

Visitors are also entitled, at any time, to revoke consents given for the processing of their personal data, without this prejudicing the lawfulness of processing based on said consents prior to their revocation.

Lastly, visitors may lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority pursuant to art. 77(1) GDPR, this being the “Garante” in Italy (Italian Data Protection Authority). Complaints can also be lodged with the supervisory authority of the Member State of their habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.

Visitors may exercise the above rights by sending a written communication to the registered office of the Controller, at the address given above, or to the following e-mail address info@systemceramics.com, or by contacting the Data Protection Officer at the following e-mail address dpo@coesia.com
